SAMHSA Announces Availability of Two Treatment Improvement Protocols on Issues in Outpatient Treatment
TIP 46, Substance Abuse: Administrative Issues in Outpatient Treatment, is designed for administrative audiences and was written to help administrators address the changing environment in which outpatient treatment programs operate. TIP 46 provides basic administrative information about running an outpatient treatment program, including strategic planning and partnerships, working with a board of directors, hiring and retaining employees, outcomes monitoring, and promotion to potential clients, funding agencies, and government officials. More specialized sections address challenges such as preparing a program to provide culturally competent treatment to an increasingly diverse client population and succeeding in a managed care-dominated world by diversifying funding sources. NCADI Publication No. BKD545.
