This online course is designed to help you and your organization develop, implement, and test a workable plan to prevent the interruption of mission-critical services, even in the event of a major business interruption.
There are many uncertainties that could influence your organization's ability to serve and survive. If you're thinking no terrorist is ever going to target our community, you're thinking too big.
Consider events more likely to occur: loss of power, lack of access to your building, inoperable vehicles, loss of Internet connection and e-mail, or the sudden departure of your executive director or board chair.
If your nonprofit has never had to juggle furiously because something you count on went awry, count yourself lucky, but don't count yourself out of taking this opportunity to develop a business continuity plan.
Do You Need to Take This Course?
These questions identify issues that should be addressed so that your community-serving organization can face adversity and continue to deliver its services.
Is your organization prepared to continue serving your community even if normal business operations were interrupted?
Has your organization developed and internally distributed the policies and procedures that need to be enacted in the event of a business interruption?
Does your organization understand the difference between business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and crisis management?
What types of backup processes does your organization use for vital data, records, and documents?
