Patients with insomnia who implemented cognitive behavioral therapy interventions such as relaxation techniques had greater improvement in their sleep than patients who received the sleep medication zopiclone, according to a study in the June 28 2006 issue of JAMA. Heavy Drinking Still a "Man's World"

According to figures recently released by SAMHSA from the 2004-2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), men outpace women in all categories of excessive drinking. Men are still twice as likely as women (10.5 percent versus 5.1 percent) to meet criteria for alcohol abuse and addiction as defined by the DSM-IV.

When you are presenting in front of an audience, you are performing as an actor is on stage. How you are being perceived is very important. Dress appropriately for the occasion. Be solemn if your topic is serious. Present the desired image to your audience. Look pleasant, enthusiastic, confident, proud, but not arrogant. Remain calm. Appear relaxed, even if you feel nervous. Speak slowly, enunciate clearly, and show appropriate emotion and feeling relating to your topic.
